SOL 28: sunshine

It’s been a dreary many months. It’s been cold and wet and cloudy. I, for one, have been in need of some sunshine.

This week has been pretty good for it. I’ve written about our many outings to the park, the museum, and walks. We’ve been soaking up the sunshine while we can.

Today we spent the day at the zoo. The temperature was amazing. The sun recharged us. I don’t think I realized how much I needed it until we were out in the fresh air. We spent from 10am until 2:30 outside enjoying everything that Brookfield Zoo had to offer.

Regular Grandpa and Great Grandpa joined us. What memories were made. The kids loved every single minute of it. The Grandpas loved every single minute of it. We are lucky to be able to have spent the day with the ones we love.

Spring break is winding down. Tomorrow is supposed to be colder and rainy. I’m bummed that the sunshine isn’t holding out for a few more days. McK isn’t nearly as upset. Still on her spring break bucket list: splash in puddles, family movie day, play date, and picnic. We will have perfect weather for these activities. We won’t be able to have that picnic outside. But an indoor picnic while having our family movie day will be just as fun.

I am writing for the 2019 March Slice of Life Challenge
