SOL 2020 14: social distancing day 1

We are trying to keep our distance from…everyone. You know, how we’ve all be requested to do.

And suddenly my kids have turned into social butterflies.

They have always been homebodies. They are most content playing with their toys, coloring, or watching a movie. Then out of no where, when we can’t really go anywhere she says, mom, can we just go somewhere today?

Absolutely not.

I snuck away to pick up some essentials thinking it would be hours and hours until my return. But somehow I made it home in 45 minutes. And they were still wanting so go to the elusive somewhere.

Too much TV time turned McKenna into a monster. A forced quiet time in her room made her much more agreeable. So it’s 3pm and we have approximately a million more days of this.

Hoping we survive.

I am writing for the 2020 Slice of Life Challenge.

  1. This paragraph sums it up.

They have always been homebodies. They are most content playing with their toys, coloring, or watching a movie. Then out of no where, when we can’t really go anywhere she says, mom, can we just go somewhere today?

I can relate on a smaller scale, as my kids always have to go——(wherever) on Black Friday, or any other day when I just want to stay home and enjoy.

It might help them if you make time to do something with them that is out of the ordinary at home. I think the challenge will come for me when I need to actually do work at home ( we haven’t gotten details about the extent of it yet or expectations). And remember walking outdoors is not out of question. Tire them out! Lol
