Continue readingSo here’s the thing. I forgot. Really. I did. I was spending the weekend with my husband. We were watching 80s romcoms. When Harry Met Sally still holds up thirty-FREAKING-six years later. We were eating at supper clubs and Italian restaurants. We’re were enjoying rooftop bars and boozy brunches. We were listening to favorite albums on a record player in a cool boutique hotel and getting pedicures. We were filling our cups while the kids were doing the same with their beloved Aunt Eve.
Continue readingYesterday the Girl Scouts had an event to see Inside Out 2. I loved the original and figured this was a good timing since Aaron was working some OT. However, I had completely forgotten about our prepaid tickets until my phone notified me it was time to leave. Luckily we only live 5 minutes away…especially so because McKenna was still sleeping…at 10:40am. 🙈
Continue readingToday McKenna, George and I took a trip to our local Ikea. While eating breakfast, we had a view of the flags proudly being flown in their parking lot: American, Illinois, and Pride.
Continue readingEleven years ago, on a cool Wednesday night much like tonight, I fell asleep as a newlywed to the sound of rain on the windows of our little blue 1930s frame house. But life would never be the same after we awoke. Everything changed setting our marriage on a path that no one could have ever expected.

Continue readingEaster is tomorrow and we have been busy prepping. The baskets have been made except for a few last minute things being delivered today. The eggs are boiled. We’ve planned and shopped for the brunch menu. We are hosting Aaron’s side of the family tomorrow for Easter and April birthdays. We have McKenna, Aaron and my BIL to celebrate.
Continue readingI have a blank wall in my dining room. I have always wanted a giant mirror for that spot but never found one big enough that wouldn’t literally cost me an arm and a leg. I’ve thought about it a lot over the years and nothing has really suited my tastes.
Continue readingHer birthday is in a week and a half. She’s been planning her party for almost a year. Seriously…since her last birthday at the roller rink. I think she came home and started looking up party ideas for her pre-double digit celebration.
Continue readingThey played on their iPads this morning. George has been building tree houses and other things in Minecraft. I have no idea what he is talking about when he tells me all about but so I just nod my head and smile. Theo played Starfall before moving on to watch Blippi and Meekah. McKenna has been obsessed with reading. She downloads books from Libby to read or listen to while she crochets. Yes. She is an old lady stuck in an almost 9 year olds body.
