SOL25: 21 glowing

This morning, my husband pulled our youngest out of bed and carried him to our room to get dressed. As the baby of the family, we still help him with these tasks. It’s just kind of easier to do it this way than to wait and beg for him to do it himself…mostly because he’s a beast in the morning and I have no patience before coffee.

Today was like most others where he complains that the lights are too bright even though it’s just the dim closet light illuminating the dark room. He told me to turn it off. I reminded him I didn’t have glow in the dark eyes that would let me see to get him dressed without any light in the room. There are two ways things can go when I distract him like this. He can think it’s hysterical and or he can get more pissed off and start screaming.

He giggled and I assumed I was in the clear.

So as I quickly prepped him for the day keeping to our very tight morning schedule, I asked him a silly question…if one part of your body had to glow in the dark, what part would you pick? Grumpy Theo emerged.

All my body. Harumph.

Ok then—he tricked me. George joined us and said that he would choose his belly button just because it’s funny. I thought I would add to the goofiness and say my butt so I wouldn’t need to turn on the light when I had to go potty in the middle of the night.

That got everyone ROLLING.

McKenna joined us and mentioned that because my butt is in the back of me, I wouldn’t be able to see anything anyway. But I might wake up Daddy on my way to the bathroom and that may make a glowing booty worth it. She chose to have her legs glow so she could see when she walked or rode her bike in the dark. Aaron wandered in and chose his eyes so he could always see in the dark.

Theo, finally over his morning beast mode, joined in the fun. He decided that his glow in the dark body would keep him awake at night. He amended his original answer to be his body…from here [shoulders] down. That way he could use blankets or PJs to cover up in the dark so as to not keep him awake.

It was a weird start to a Friday to end the longest week ever. Weird but fun.

So…what part of your body would you choose to glow in the dark? Just curious.
