21SOL24: viruses

I got whatever Aaron had which was likely brought into the house by Theo. He’s the worst offender when it comes to washing his hands and touching ALL. THE. THINGS.

It started out with a grumbly belly. I thought it was just because the only thing occupying that space was my morning coffee and it was closing in on 12:30. So I went to get some fresh air and grab a couple of tacos. I only ate one and tossed the other in our office fridge for lunch the next day.

RIP taco. I won’t be eating that again anytime soon.

The grumbly belly did not subside and turned into a hurty belly. It was almost time to head home so I toughed it out until quitting time. I finally left the office and fresh air felt amazing. Upon sitting in my car, I laid my forehead in my steering wheel and THAT’S When it happened.

Luckily I was still at work so I was able to clean up both myself and my car. I went home and curled up into a ball. This sucks. I was in and out of the bathroom losing my lunch for the better part of the night. I lost count how many times. Poor Theo had to witness one such event. He’s traumatized. I tried to keep down toast and that didn’t work.

Then the other things that happen with tummy viruses began. I would not wish this on my worst enemy. Between one end or the other, I spent the majority of my last 24 hours in the bathroom cursing Theo and his dirty hands…assuming it was him. Last night I held down some toast.

I’m hoping to head to work today. I don’t see any students and only have virtual meetings throughout the day. But so many virtual meetings. So many. Ugh. In between I’ll return the mountain of emails ignored yesterday while I recovered. Pray for me.

I am writing for the 17th annual Slice of Life challenge presented by Two Writing Teachers.
