Each Friday, I am hoping to list some things I am thankful for from throughout the week. So continuing for this week…

Wednesdays are SO busy for us. At work, I have 2 weekly back-to-back department meetings starting at 9:30. My oldest has a standing Wednesday appointment at 4. My two boys typically have Scouts at 6. My middle guy had basketball practice at 6:30 until recently. And one special Wednesday a month, I have my larger department meeting at 2:45.

Today was that day.

If I had more time. It’s something we all say. There’s not enough time. Ever. I wish. I wish. I wish.

Borrowing this structure from Blogged but Unspoken. It is a Fib (Fibonnaci) Poem. It has 6 lines. The first 2 lines are 1 syllable each, followed by 2 syllables, then 3, 5 and 8 syllables for the sixth line.

If your kids get overstimulated like mine, you might need to help them regulate. How does this work? Sometimes we take a towel and wipe the yuckies off. Sometimes we rock in the rocking chair with deep squeezes. But our most successful is a reset.

Every morning, McKenna is the last to leave her bed. I wake up all the kids at 6:45 then go make my coffee. The boys are usually up and at the kitchen table for breakfast by 7:00am.

Not McKenna. 

I pester her until I leave the house with requests of PROOF OF LIFE. This is to ensure she hasn’t fallen back to sleep—or is awakened again if she has.
