I’ve worked really hard to be a little more positive. I’m trying to be a glass half full kind of girl. In that spirit, being present in my day rather than my nose in the phone, here are ten things that made me smile today.
- My boys having a “sleepover” in the bottom bunk.
- The coyote statues in front of one of my schools that I always mistake for actual coyotes—they are there to scare away the geese.
- My girl trying on her new glasses. She chose them last week and we picked them up Saturday.
- My kids reading together.
- My husband carrying the boys to bed.
- A student using their AAC device to tell me to hurry up because they were late for math.
- A gaggle of geese crossing a busy road today along with the school bus, construction truck, and sedan that stopped traffic ti allow it.
- Another student stopping me in the hallway to tell me their AAC was broken. It was not but they didn’t like it in guided access.
- The babysitter walking in with a traffic cone as his safe item for Senior Assassin.
- My newest crochet project taking shape.

Tell your girl the new glasses look great! Her smile is the best accessory, though! (From a girl who got glasses during elementary school days, too. Decades later, it is still a thrill to get a new pair, new look!)

Yes, those new glasses look wonderful and I hope they also clarify the world. PS I always found it hard to recognize myself in new glasses!

This list made me smile too! Thank you for sharing. It’s a good reminder to look for the positives and make note of the moments that make us happy.
