8 SOL 26: Regularly Scheduled Dates

Date nights are hard to come by when you are working parents of three less-than-independent kids. We rarely get them. However, we really try to carve time every now and then to spend some QT without our three pack in tow.

One way we have done that over the last year is by getting a subscription to a local theater. We have tickets to four matinee shows a year. We have purchased a premium package for a pre-show and intermission cocktail party type thing to extend our time on the front end.

On the way home, we go to dinner somewhere between the theater and home. We’ve always chosen new-to-us restaurants to try something that our picky kids usually prevent us from enjoying. A couple of times we’ve stopped at a local barrel room to have an after dinner drink.

The best part is we get home after the kids are in bed but early enough to relax a little bit before passing out. This is all courtesy of our beloved Aunt Eve who watches our kids without [to-our-faces] complaint. We are so very thankful for these stolen dates.

For our regularly scheduled date night, we saw Dear Evan Hansen, had dinner at Amore Mio, and a couple of drinks at The Barelman’s Room.

10/10 highly recommend
