SOL25: 19 building boredom

Does anyone else have one of those kids who just has to be busy all the time? Maybe they are always reading or riding a bike. Or maybe they have to have a little project going all the time. Maybe they spend their time doing little craft projects or watching TV or playing a game or just chatting your head off.

My daughter is an all of the above kind of kid. She cannot just…be. Instead she has to be doing something.

On Saturday she got a new bike. She spent the afternoon and early evening riding around the neighborhood. When the weather turned to snow on Sunday…welcome to Chicagoland…she was crawling the walls. Like I said, she cannot be bored.

I suggested she clean her room, watch a movie, or play with her brothers. I mentioned the 10 different crafting projects she had previously started and then quit. Instead of any of these activities, she pulled out a Lego set she had gotten for Christmas.

She spent hours and hours on it. I think she worked for nearly 8 hours completing her newest masterpiece. It’s been displayed on the kitchen table since. Upon finishing, she promptly asked for another one.

Good thing her birthday is coming up.
